Enrolment at Fish Hoek High School

Fish Hoek High School is a public FEE-PAYING school.  Enrolling your child at a fee-paying school obligates you to meet the required fees.  The Government does not cover the loss of fees.   Our annual school fee for 2024 is R33,500-00 per learner.

WCED Step-By-Step Guide

2025 GRADE 8 ADMISSION PROCESS

As per WCED – ALL applications must be completed on the Western Cape Education Department (WCED) online admissions website here.

PHASE 1

IMPORTANT WCED DATES:

11 March 2024 – WCED online admissions open

12 April 2024 – WCED online admissions close

29 May 2024 – WCED system displays outcome of all applications

29 May – 3 June 2024 – WCED informs parents of the outcome via email/SMS

29 May – 14 June 2024 – Parents to confirm acceptance of placements via the WCED admissions website

15 June – 31 July 2024 – Parents are informed of further available places.  Parents must confirm acceptance of placement within 3 DAYS of acceptance.

WCED DOCUMENTS:  Parents MUST have the following certified documents scanned and ready for upload during the WCED online admission application:

  • The last official school report [i.e. 2024 Term 4 Grade 6 report]
  • ID | Birth certificate | passport of the learner; OR
  • A study permit (foreign learners); OR
  • Proof of application (study permit) or a police affidavit
  • Proof of Residence (i.e recent Rates account | Lease agreement)

WCED requires you to apply to at least 3 schools via their online admission application.  Documents you upload via the WCED online admission website can be viewed by all the schools you have selected. 

If you DO NOT have access to a computer and the internet to register and complete the WCED online application, there are Walk-Ins welcome at the following locations and dates:

  • Muizenberg – Capricorn Mall – 16 March 2024 / 6 & 7 April 2024
  • Ocean View – Marine Primary School – 16 March 2024 / 6 April 2024

PHASE 2: FHHS REGISTRATION FOR 2025 GRADE 8 ENROLMENT 

After parents have confirmed their acceptance via the WCED online admissions website, the School will email parents and  provide you with an Enrolment Application and further instructions for completion and return.

2025 GRADE 9 TO 12 ADMISSIONS

IMPORTANT:  Please read the WCED information via their website regarding their process for 2025   Grade 9 to 12 applications.

As per WCED – please take note of the following:

  • Due to a very high demand for spaces, the WCED will only consider transfer requests in the case of relocation.
  • Parents will have to complete a hard copy transfer request form and submit the completed form with the supporting documents to the school(s) of their choice or their nearest district office.

Important WCED dates:

1 August 2024 – System opens for schools and districts to capture transfer requests.
16 August 2024 – System closes for schools and districts to capture transfer requests.
1 October 2024 – Parents are informed of spaces and must accept and confirm placement within three days.

Please note that due to the pressure on places, we cannot guarantee any placement and advise families to apply to more than one school.  

Supporting documentation to be included with the fully completed application:

  • Learner’s end of 2023 report
  • Learner’s 2024 Term 2 report
  • Learner’s birth certificate
  • Learner’s permit (foreign nationals only)
  • Parent’s proof of address in the form of a recent Municipal Rates Account, current fully signed Lease Agreement or Navy Payslip.
