Conditions for Awards


ACADEMIC

Grade 9

To achieve a junior academic merit, pupils must have achieved the following minimum aggregate in term 4:

Grade 8: 82%
Grade 9: 80%

Grade 10

Pupils should be able to achieve full colours based on their November exam results (previously half colours was the maximum).  See criteria below

G10 NOVEMBER
Achievement 75%
Half 80% ;  78% + 3A
FULL 88 %

Grade 11 to be awarded academic colours based on June exam results (previously only on November exam results).  See criteria

Half 80 76%
Full 85 80% ;  78% + 3A
Honours 90 88% or 7As
Honours + 95 95%

Grade 12

G12 June OR September Ave of June, September November (finals)
Achievement 72% 70%

Grade 10 and 11 academic colours are awarded at the second Monday assembly of the new year (together with the previous year’s matrics who received an “A” aggregate), and also at the first assembly of term 3 (grade 11). Grade heads will determine the list at the end of the year end and the end of term 2. The grade 12 academic colours are to be determined by the grade team and handed out at prizegiving / valedictory.
