Enrolment at Fish Hoek High School


Fish Hoek High School is a public FEE-PAYING school. Enrolling your child at a fee-paying school obligates you to meet the required fees. The Government does not cover the loss of fees. Our annual school fee for 2025 is R36,000-00 per learner.

2026 GRADE 8 ADMISSION PROCESS

As per WCED – ALL applications must be completed on the Western Cape Education Department (WCED) online admissions website.

Please ensure that you have read the WCED’s Terms & Conditions.

PHASE 1

IMPORTANT WCED DATES:

11 March 2025 – WCED online admissions open
15 April 2025 – WCED online admissions close
30 May 2025 – WCED system displays outcome of all applications
30 May – 17 June 2025 – WCED informs parents of the outcome via email/SMS
30 May – 17 June 2025 – Parents to confirm acceptance of placements via the WCED admissions website.
17 June – 31 July 2025 – Parents are informed of further available places. Parents must confirm acceptance of placement within 3 DAYS of acceptance.

WCED DOCUMENTS: Parents MUST have the following certified documents scanned and ready for upload during the WCED online admission application

• Learner’s Identification (any of the following):

o Identity document (ID) / birth certificate

o Foreign learners: a passport / a copy of parent’s refugee or asylum seeker permit on which the learner’s name should appear

o If the learner of foreign parents was born in South Africa (SA): a handwritten birth certificate (DHA 19 form).

o If the learner was not born in SA: a passport & study permit /a refugee or asylum seeker permit issued in the learner’s name.

• Latest official school / academic report of learner (i.e. 2024 Term 4 Grade 6 report)

• Proof of residence (i.e. most recent rates account / lease agreement)

WCED requires you to apply to at least 3 schools via their online admission application. Documents you upload via the WCED online admission website can be viewed by all the schools you have selected.

PHASE 2: FHHS REGISTRATION FOR 2026 GRADE 8 ENROLMENT

After parents have confirmed their acceptance via the WCED online admissions website, the School will email parents and provide you with an Enrolment Application and further instructions for completion and return.

2026 GRADE 9 TO 12 ADMISSIONS

Please note: As our current grades are at capacity, only a limited number of applicants will be offered a waiting list option. Final decisions will be made after our end of year exam results which will determine our grade and subject choice capacity.

Therefore, due to pressure on places, we cannot guarantee any placement. 

IMPORTANT:  Please read the WCED information via their website regarding their process for 2026 Grade 9 to 12 applications.

As per WCED – please take note of the following:

  • Due to a very high demand for spaces, the WCED will only consider transfer requests in the case of relocation.
  • Parents will have to complete a hard copy transfer request form and submit the completed form with the supporting documents to the school(s) of their choice or their nearest district office.

IMPORTANT WCED DATES:

4 August 2025 – WCED system opens for schools and districts to capture transfer requests.
18 August 2025 – WCED system closes for schools and districts to capture transfer requests.
17 September 2025 – WCED system displays the outcome of transfer requests.
17 to 19 September 2025 – Parents are informed of the outcome per email/SMS
17 to 30 September 2025 – Parents confirm acceptance of the transfer placements.

Supporting documentation to be included with the fully completed application:

  • Learner’s end of 2024 report
  • Learner’s 2025 Term 2 report
  • Learner’s birth certificate
  • Learner’s permit (foreign nationals only)
  • Proof of Residence (i.e recent Rates account | Lease agreement)
