Fish Hoek High School Netball shoots for glory

Fish Hoek High School’s First Netball Team, sponsored by VOX, just capped off a brilliant season by becoming the 2019 First League Champions!

The team, coached by Leasje Welthagen from South Side Netball Academy, has been undefeated in the league and qualified for the Cape Town Schools’ Netball Finals. The finals were hosted by Bellville High School on Saturday.  Fish Hoek High School beat Rustenburg Girls’ High 16-9 to be crowned 2019 champions.

Our netball has been going from strength to strength this year.  We are not only proud of our first team’s achievements, but can also celebrate a number of individual achievements:
Linda Cwayi and Faye Denne played for the Western Cape U17 team.  CJ Sieberts and Daina Phiri represented CTSN U17. Ochre McCreadie went to the SA Games in Durban with the Western Cape U15 team and Emma Botha played CTSN U14.

Road to the final

FHHS Vox 1st netball team beat the following team en route to the finals:
Herschel Girls’ High 39-12, Reddam Constantia 43-14, Rustenburg Girls’ High 31-25, Springfield Convent 53-18, Westerford 52-17,Wynberg Girls’ High 47-19 and Fairmont 33-26.
