Fish Hoek High School embarked on a massive fundraising drive to improve their sports facilities. Offering quality sporting facilities is an essential part of providing an holistic education.
Pupils, parents and teachers alike were very excited to be participating in the Sotheby’s Cave2Coast event during the last week of the winter school holidays. This was a gruelling task for the pupils and their teachers, who were to run 500km in 5 days!
Parents, pupils, corporates and the general public were asked to sponsor the team – an individual or the whole team.
On the first day of school, 24 July, we had the whole school seated on the sport fields to welcome our runners home. It was a very emotional homecoming. As we cheered them onto the field, you could see how some were feeling exhausted after their trip. Well done to the team and Mr Steve Mitchell, who dreamed up this idea.
The money raised will go towards the new grandstands, which have been built on the top field.
An enormous thank you to our main sponsor – LEW GEFFEN SOTHEBY’S (FALSE BAY), as well as all other sponsors, who made this wonderful event possible.
